About the Event
Intro
Showcase in the Sand is proud to announce the First Annual International Exposure and Skills Camp. This highly anticipated event will take place June 25th through July 1st of 2012 on the Beautiful Campus of the University of West Florida in Pensacola Beach, Florida. With players coming from around the world for this One-of-a-Kind event its sure to be an event you do not want to miss. Once campers arrive at Pensacola Regional Airport they will be transported to the University of West Florida campus where they will check-in with members of our staff and be given a tour of the housing, dining facilities and gymnasiums. Once checked in the FUN begins.
Event Highlights
Skill Development Sessions –
- Training sessions will be led by top-notch experienced coaches from the United States and from around the World.
Train Like the Pros! –
- We are proud to announce that renowned NBA trainer Rob McClanaghan, who has trained hundreds of players all over the world and over 75 NBA players, will be on hand to put campers through drills and training exercises for two days during the week. A former player at Syracuse, Coach McClanaghan has worked with NBA Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose since before his NBA debut as the No. 1 overall pick out of Memphis in 2008. He has also played an important role in the development of NBA All-Stars Kevin Durant (NBA Scoring Leader in 2010-11), Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook and Al Horford. Among his other notable clients currently in the NBA are Tyreke Evans, JR Smith, OJ Mayo, Brooke & Robin Lopez. Coach McClanaghan has also helped with the development of WNBA All-Star Candace Parker.

- Showcase your talents in front of American college coaches who will be on hand looking for undiscovered talent!
Competition from Around the World –
- Whether you’re male or female, you will have the opportunity to test your skills against some of the top players from around the globe!
Daily Schedule (Tentative)
Day 1 - (Arrival/Check-In)
- -Players picked up by shuttle from airport upon arrival and transported to campus
- -Check-in (Players receive camp gear, housing assignments, camp rules, dining information, etc)
- -Brief introductions to Camp Staff in gymnasium
- -Dinner
- -Evaluation games & drills allowing camp staff to evaluate skill level at start of camp.
Day 2 - (Camp Begins)
- -Breakfast
- -Staff Introductions
- -Campers will be divided into teams with introductory meetings with their team coaches to follow.
- -Dynamic Stretching
- -Skill Development Stations
- -Lunch
- -Skill Development Stations
- -5-on-5 Games
- -Dinner
- -5-on-5 Games
Day 3 - (Activity Day)
- -Early breakfast and then on and off campus activities will be planned for team bonding and time to socialize with campers and coaches from around the world. Will also have a late night movie night for some relaxation leading up to the high intensity training and games to follow in the week.
Day 4-5 (NBA Guest Trainer)
- -Campers will spend one day with our Guest NBA trainer while the other day they will participate in games and experience some unique training methods with camp staff comprised of highly experienced American and International coaches.
- -In the evening of Day 5 there will also be various skills competitions, including a dunk contest and three-point competition, that campers will have a chance to participate in.
Day 6 (Exposure Day – College Coaches to be in attendance)
- -Campers will compete in a minimum of three 5-on-5 full games with College Coaches, a select group of Prep schools, and Scouting/Media services on hand.
- -The day will conclude with a few words from motivational speakers and a Question & Answer session about the American college recruiting process.
Day 7 (Departure)
- -Campers will have access to an early breakfast before boarding shuttles back to the airport for departing flights.
